Understanding funeral costs, without the pressure
When someone dies, it is hard to know what a funeral should cost or who to call. Farewell Compare brings together the prices that Glasgow funeral directors now publish by law, so you can compare them calmly, in your own time.
No account, no sign-up. You will see results straight away. You can enter an email afterwards only if you would like a copy to keep or share.
Why Farewell Compare exists
Clear information, when it is hardest to look for it
Most families call the first funeral director they find, at a moment when comparing prices feels impossible. Yet costs for the same kind of funeral can differ by thousands of pounds.
Since 2021, every funeral director in the UK has been required to publish a standardised price list. Farewell Compare gathers those lists for the Glasgow area into one place and lays them out plainly: what each funeral includes, what it starts at, and what other families have said. We are not a funeral director and we do not sell funerals. Our only aim is to make one part of a hard week a little clearer.
How it works
Three quiet steps
Enter a postcode
Tell us roughly where you are. We will show the funeral directors serving that part of Glasgow, nearest first. Nothing is asked of you beyond a postcode.
Compare gently
See starting prices for direct cremation, a simple funeral, and a traditional funeral, alongside what each one includes and what families have written.
Keep what helps
View a full profile, or send yourself a plain email summary to read later or share with family. Then contact the funeral directors directly, when you are ready.
Planning ahead
Some people arrange their own funeral in advance
A pre-paid funeral plan lets someone choose and pay for the main parts of their funeral now, so their family is not left to make those decisions later. It is a personal choice, and not right for everyone.
Our guide explains how these plans work, what they usually cover, and the questions worth asking before arranging one.
